Mitsuyo Seo, a renowned Japanese animator, screenwriter, and director of animated films, produced a short film in 1935 titled "Inaba no Usagi" (いなばの国の兎さん). The film tells the story of a Hare's determined quest to cross the island. The Hare managed to deceive the crocodiles into forming a line by pretending to count them, but the crocodiles eventually discovered the plan and stripped the Hare of its fur. Mitsuyo Seo, born in Himeji, Hyōgo Prefecture, played a significant role in the development of Japanese anime.
