SUMMARY
Despite being born with deafness, muteness, and intellectual impairment, Keiko was the cherished only child of the Takazis. Her parents struggled with her severe disabilities and the distress it caused them. Eventually, they enrolled her in a school for the deaf and mute, which turned out to be a crucial moment for the family. With the help of Keiko's teachers and newfound friends, they established a collective called "Donguri," or acorn, that provided a workspace for people with disabilities to regain their autonomy.
