Chiyoko, a fifth-grader with a fascination for the occult, receives a request from a friend to perform a love fortune-telling. Her attempt to call upon Cupid is thwarted by a stuffy nose, resulting in the accidental summoning of a witch named Gyubid. Thus begins Chiyoko's training in witchcraft under the tutelage of Gyubid, a self-proclaimed top instructor in the magical realm. The training is demanding, with strict punishments for any slacking off. Thankfully, Chiyoko is able to keep her extracurricular studies under wraps since Gyubid is invisible to everyone else.
