The animated Flash series "Haiyore! Nyaruko-san" adapts the light novel and showcases Nyarlko, a female version of Nyarlathotep from Cthulhu Mythos. Nyarlko's constant foolish acts are criticized by Mahiro, a typical human boy. One of the shorts depicts Nyarlko crafting a body pillow with a half-dressed Mahiro in an inappropriate position, resulting in Mahiro stabbing Nyarlko's hand with a fork, threatening to kill her if she lets out the design. Other shorts also feature Cthuko, an enamored anthropomorphized female version of Cthugha.
