Akihiro, an imaginative adolescent, is preparing for a romantic outing with his beau, Miyuki. But while returning home, he discovers a strange rug. Unexpectedly, a charming and vivacious girl named Malon bursts out of the carpet, unveiling the realm of Phantasia and her yearning to dwell with him. Despite his attraction for beautiful ladies, Akihiro disapproves of Malon's magical ways and asks her to leave. Furthermore, a deranged magician named Roll is also after Malon, seeking to exterminate her.
