Accompanied by his father, the famous archeologist Dr. Daino, Taiga embarks on an exhilarating journey of discovery. At the center of their adventure are two ancient treasures: the mysterious "Ooparts Egg" and a colossal stone statue known as "Oobats". These artifacts were unearthed from ancient ruins almost two thousand years ago, and the father-son team set out to explore newly discovered ruins in South America. While there, they uncover a giant, fifty-meter-long bird statue dating back over 20,000 years. They ponder its creators and purpose, until the stone bird unexpectedly springs to life and takes flight before their astonished eyes. The bird turns out to be a living manifestation of the "Oobats", with the power to destroy the entire universe if it ever unites with the "Ooparts Egg". Taiga resolves to prevent this catastrophe, and must race to thwart those seeking the ancient artifact before time runs out.
