True love endures, even between a human and a near-immortal youkai. The cunning fox spirit youkai have discovered a way to bring humans back through reincarnation, assisted by a Fox Spirit Matchmaker who helps them recover memories of past lives. In this story, Bai Yuechu, a skilled Taoist yearning for independence from the ruling Yi Qi Dao League, meets Tushan Susu, a compassionate and inexperienced fox spirit with dreams of becoming a successful matchmaker in spite of her propensity for errors. When Susu falls into Yuechu's life, he is drawn into helping her reunite Prince Fan Yun Fei with his reincarnated lover, Li Xueyang, even though not everyone believes they should be reunited – including Xueyang herself.
