In search of meaning in her life, Hisone Amakasu enrolls in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and is assigned to Gifu Airbase. While exploring an unfamiliar area of the base, she stumbles upon the JASDF's most extraordinary secret: the Organic Transformed Flyer (OTF), a dragon capable of disguising itself as an aircraft. The OTF engulfs her and then spits her out, leading her commanding officers to inform her that this experience has destined her to become the latest Dragon Pilot, following in a long lineage. With the support of her fellow pilot cadets and her personal OTF, Maso-tan, Hisone must confront her self-doubt in order to unearth her true potential as a Dragon Pilot and solve the mysteries surrounding the OTFs.
