His daydreams come true when he stumbles upon a mysterious blue card and scans it with his toy scanner, leading to the appearance of his fan-made creation, Guilmon, and a Digivice. Thrilled to have a real-life Digimon partner, Takato embarks on a journey to become a Digimon Tamer. However, Takato comes to realize that this world is far from a game. Rampaging wild Digimon are wreaking havoc all over Japan. Armed with his Digivice and the power to increase strength by scanning trading cards, Takato sets out to stop the threat posed by rogue Digimon. Yet, an organization lurks in the shadows that aims to exterminate all Digimon and their Tamers, posing a dangerous situation with everything on the line.
