Detroit Metal City is a prevailing force in the indie music scene, renowned for their brooding and lewd style of death metal. The band is fronted by an extravagant lead vocalist Johannes Krauser II, who espouses a demonic persona derived from hell, aiming to subjugate mortals and rule the world. What many of their worshippers don't know, however, is that Krauser II is just a façade for an unassuming college graduate named Souichi Negishi. Negishi is a peace-loving individual who would much rather indulge in Swedish pop, but circumstances force him to perform garish concerts and maintain Krauser II's questionable public image. Detroit Metal City follows Negishi's comical struggles as he navigates band life, romance, and obsessive fans.
