The story of Kannazuki no Miko takes place in the peaceful and unhurried atmosphere of Mahoroba village. Despite their contrasting personalities, Himeko and Chikane both attend Ototachibana Academy and share an unshakable affection for each other. Himeko is plagued by self-doubt and timidity, while Chikane exudes elegance and bravery. During their joint birthday celebration, their friend becomes a victim of an evil power, which unleashes an attack on the duo. However, just when all hope seems lost, the dormant powers of the lunar and solar priestesses awaken within Himeko and Chikane, overpowering their adversary. But their journey is far from over as they must face multiple threats, some even from those closest to their hearts.
