SUMMARY
Yotarou, despite achieving the highest rank of shin'uchi, struggles to find his identity in the world of rakugo. The conflict between his master's teachings and the legacy of the late Sukeroku leaves him lacking a crucial element in his performances - ego. Although he enjoys immense popularity, he is just one of the few performers fighting to keep rakugo relevant.
Meanwhile, Yakumo, the last bastion of rakugo's popularity, is grappling with his advancing age. He is concerned that his performances will soon lose their luster, especially as an old friend resurfaces. Konatsu, a single mother, is raising her son and coping with various challenges. Yotarou wants to marry her and raise her child as his own, but she is hesitant.
In Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen, the story ends with Yotarou and Yakumo's quest to revive the fading art form and resolve their inner struggles.
