Following the events of Shikabane Hime Aka, this series takes place six months after Tagami Keisei's death at the hands of the Shichisei- an elite group of Shikabane with ulterior motives. Kagami Ouri has entered into a temporary contract with Makina to uphold Keisei's dying wish and prevent her from becoming a Shikabane. Ouri has been working diligently to become a skilled monk to serve as Makina's ally in her ongoing battle against the Shichisei- the same group responsible for the murders of Makina's entire family and Keisei. However, the Shichisei have now gained the support of traitorous monk, Shishidou Akasha, who seeks to eliminate all Shikabane Hime and the Kougon Sect- the organization of monks that employ them.
