The Eighty-Six, as they're called by the military, are forced to fight against the Empire's autonomous Legion, led by the Republican "Handlers." Vladilena Milizé joins the Spearhead squadron, replacing their prior Handler. Outcast by her colleagues for standing with the Eighty-Six, she continues to battle their inhuman maltreatment. Shinei Nouzen is the captain of the Spearhead squadron and the only surviving member of his previous squads. He bears the names and desires of his fallen comrades.
