Starting high school, Sakamichi Onoda was excited to unite with fellow anime fans in the anime club- friends he never had in middle school. Disappointingly, he found the club had disbanded. Refusing to accept this, Onoda aimed to recruit 4 new members to bring it back to life. Growing up, Onoda loved exploring Akihabara on his mamachari bike. During one exploration, his cycling up a steep hill got the attention of freshman Shunsuke Imaizumi, who cycled around town. On another trip to a Gundam model store, Onoda met the cycling enthusiast and fellow freshman, Shokichi Naruko. Naruko was impressed by Onoda's exceptional cycling ability and discovered they went to the same school. Although the two pushed Onoda to join the bicycle racing club, it was uncertain whether he would accept their offer.
