After escaping Sword Art Online, Kazuto Kirigaya has been adapting to real life. Unfortunately, his peace is disrupted when a player called Death Gun starts killing people in reality through their transactions on Gun Gale Online. Kazuto gets recruited to investigate and takes on his pseudonym, Kirito, to stop the murders. In his pursuit, Kirito encounters Sinon, an expert marksman who has experienced trauma in the past. Together, they participate in the Bullet of Bullets tournament, hoping to draw out Death Gun. They are in a race against time, unsure of Death Gun's true abilities, and must prevent further deaths. However, as they confront their own histories, obstacles arise that might obstruct their progress. Kirito puts his life on the line once again as the stakes are too high, entering the virtual world to rescue players.
