Lucius Modestus, an architect from ancient Rome, is struggling with writer's block and starts seeking new employment opportunities. He becomes increasingly despondent and his friends suggest he visit a bathhouse to de-stress. However, he finds the busy and noisy environment too distracting and decides to submerge his head in the water. To his surprise, he discovers a secret tunnel that takes him to a contemporary Japanese bathhouse, sparking his imagination and giving him the inspiration he needs to create something new. With knowledge that seems to surpass his time, Lucius strives to recreate his vision, but his limited resources often lead to inferior results. Nonetheless, his innovation and ingenuity may be enough to capture the attention of the public and restore his reputation as an esteemed architect.
