However, centuries down the line, those who crave the return of Gyumaoh have unleashed a deadly plague upon the world. This attempt to resurrect him has created a wave of negative energy that has pushed the youkai to the brink of madness. Kanzeon Bosatsu has called upon Son Goku, Genjou Sanzou, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai to venture to the west, and prevent any possibility of Gyumaoh returning and launching a violent attack on humanity.
