A hundred years back, a solitary traveler captured the mighty Hoopa's power and bottled it up. This creature could take down legendary Pokémon by itself. The bottle was concealed deep inside a desert cave, hoping never to release the darkness within it. Time passed, and a youngster stumbled upon the bottle. Breaking the curse, the power resulted in Hoopa's shadow, who destroyed the bottle and vowed to remain free. The shadow ran riot and engaged in battle against the original Hoopa while both creatures summoned other legendary beings to assist in their conflict. Satoshi, a budding Pokémon trainer from Kanto, and his friends became enmeshed in the fight and must now act fast to prevent further destruction or face the catastrophic clash of these fabled creatures.
