In the year U.C. 0096, the Earth Federation government formed the Mastema special forces team to investigate a section of the fragmented asteroid Axis, which had been moving through the Earth Sphere. Along with Mehmet, the investigative squad consisted of two civilians - Arlette Almage and Danton Highleg. Arlette was previously an engineer, and Danton had worked as a test pilot. However, the team encountered an attack from a private militia during their mission. As the conflict intensified, Arlette, who had her own secret motive, headed to the wrecked remains of the Sazabi, deserted on the Axis's surface.
