One day, she witnessed a strange heart-shaped mirror emanating a bright light. This light turned out to be Topo, a mirror fairy who took over Mai's beloved flying squirrel stuffed animal. Topo then gave Mai a bracelet with the four card suits, which could transform into a bubble wand. With this magic wand, Mai could transform into an 18-year-old magician named Magical Emi. Empowered by her new abilities, Mai used her magic to help others and participate in her grandparents' shows.
