Despite knowing that it is important to take all belongings with oneself when passing to ease the mourning of others, she understood that she would never be able to follow this advice. The volume of what she left behind was too excessive and eternal. And so, in one final act of defiance, she resolved to gather all that she had witnessed, cherished, and abandoned. She deliberately compiled them into a book, leaving behind nothing more than a narrative. A fable depicting a long-gone era, recounting the stories of thirteen individuals who never rose to heroism.
