After the Altana Liberation Army retreated from the Kabuki District, there was a temporary lull in the chaos of war. However, the remaining troops were met with opposition from the Oniwaban and Shinsengumi forces, as well as the locals. It was during this tumultuous time that the brilliant inventor of Edo, Gengai Hiraga, was taken hostage. He had played a vital role in defeating the enemy by rendering their weapons useless. But now, there was a risk of his nanomachine virus being neutralized. At the same time, the Liberation Army's mother ship appeared in Earth's orbit, equipped with a laser beam capable of destroying the planet. Shinsuke Takasugi and the Kiheitai boarded the ship to prevent the weapon from being activated, sparking another wave of conflict. The Yorozuya and their allies faced a dual challenge of protecting Edo and saving the entire world. To succeed, they had to emerge victorious on both fronts.
