The Shinra Electric Power Company sends their elite SOLDIER fighting force, led by war hero Sephiroth, to investigate reports of monsters terrorizing the Mount Nibel reactor. Accompanied by fellow SOLDIER First Class Zack Fair and a small team of company guards, Sephiroth is tasked with assessing the condition of the Mako reactor and discovering the source of the monsters. During their mission, Sephiroth uncovers the dark origins of Shinra's Jenova Project in the village of Nibelheim. Months later, Zack is on the run from the Shinra Electric Power Company's General Affairs Department, also known as the Turks. He is no longer the hero he once aspired to be and is desperately trying to evade the Turks who want to bury the evidence they possess.
