After losing their parents a few years back, Ryo and his sister Akane have been fending for themselves. Despite their situation, they've managed to live rather peaceful and ordinary lives. However, their calm existence gets disrupted by a mysterious government policy aimed at combatting the declining birth rates. The initiative enlists two young individuals into a compulsory marriage. Ryo has no will to participate, but he's left with no other option. In the dead of night, his assigned wife, Shizuka, appears on his doorstep, trailed by numerous government bodyguards.
