Kai and his ailing sister Hikaru received protection from ASHURUM, an entity that recognized Kai's extraordinary skills. ASHURUM noticed Kai's potential and offered him a place in their elite team AESES after being introduced by Eiji. Despite receiving rigorous training with the special force, Kai never neglected his visits to Hikaru in the organization's hospital. Although Kai made tremendous progress through his training, Hikaru's health did not show any improvement even after twelve months. This compelled Kai to leave the organization.
