Ren Mihashi was the star player of his middle school baseball team, but his poor pitching skills caused his team to fail, and as a result, he was subjected to bullying and lost all his confidence. In an attempt to start anew, he decided to attend a high school far away from his hometown and gave up on playing baseball. However, fate had other plans, as he was forced to join the newly created baseball team at Nishiura High School as their starting pitcher. Initially reluctant, Mihashi soon found a supportive environment within the team with the help of catcher Takaya Abe, who mentored and encouraged him to regain his self-esteem. Under Abe's guidance, Mihashi determined to become a worthy ace once again.
