SUMMARY
In spite of their apparent differences, the characters in HUMAN CROSSING share a common thread. They grapple with the realities of everyday existence--albeit some situations are delightful, while others are dire. This assembly of short stories is set in present-day Japan and explores the experiences of individuals from all walks of life. The animation style is understated, utilizing lifelike depictions that capture the vast array of emotions felt by the characters. HUMAN CROSSING showcases the dramatic possibilities presented by real life and emphasizes the solitary, lonesome nature of metropolitan living. However, the film ultimately implies that every person is bound by an underlying interconnectedness, even strangers who seem to have nothing in common.
