Tom Sawyer is a city of the future that runs on the concept of "Love," similar to the way likes work on social media. The more Love you have, the better your avatar looks and the more access you have to public facilities. This is made possible through the hologram device "Deco" that is implanted in citizens' eyes since birth. The government oversees this system, ensuring peace, but trouble arises when a mysterious entity known as Phantom Zero causes Love to plummet to zero whenever they appear. Berry, a cheerful young woman who is fascinated by Phantom Zero, is content living in Tom Sawyer. However, everything changes when she meets Hack, who is disguised as the elusive prankster. Berry realizes that her Deco is malfunctioning and jumps to the conclusion that Hack is Phantom Zero. She follows Hack and discovers some of Tom Sawyer's hidden secrets. She learns that Hack is not the only one living outside the boundaries of the system and that Tom Sawyer has a questionable character hiding behind its shiny exterior.
