As far as teenage troublemakers go, Urameshi Yusuke, a 14-year-old delinquent, is at the top of the list. Skipping classes, causing chaos, and engaging in daily brawls are all part of his routine. However, that all changes when he unexpectedly sacrifices himself to save a young child. No one could have anticipated such a selfless act from someone as unruly as Urameshi Yusuke. The afterlife is caught off guard, as they never thought he could be capable of such a deed. As a result, Yusuke becomes a ghost, with no place to go and must find a way to earn his way back to life. Koenma, King Enma's successor, takes Yusuke under his wing and enlists him for his services while his father is away. He assigns Yusuke to assist in thwarting dangerous demons who threaten the lives of innocent people. These demons aim to either steal valuable artifacts and weapons or wreak havoc upon humanity. Joining Yusuke is his ne'er-do-well rival, Kuwabara Kazuma, and two former afterlife inmates, Hiei and Kurama, who escaped Koenma's grasp. Together, this band of misfit allies embarks on a journey, partaking in battles where the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.
