Daisuke Higashida, a freshman at Higashizaka High School, is reputed for being an earnest individual. Despite grappling with his unresponsive household, he enjoys a serene existence. Alas, when his father's enterprise faces bankruptcy, Daisuke's financial constraints mount, and his meager luxuries like pocket money, phone expenses, and commute payments become unaffordable. Consequently, his father encourages him to secure a part-time job. Daisuke opts for a family eatery nearby to his residence to evade the tedious 15-kilometer bike ride to school.
