During the ancient Shang dynasty of China, Emperor Shou defied the divine will by boldly announcing his leadership over the people and resistance against the gods. Zi Shou courageously battled against Tian Kui, but the gods above merely laughed at his efforts. Tian, a more powerful deity, ultimately killed Zi and shattered his Immortal Phoenix armor. Wu Geng awoke in the body of Ah Gou and discovered he now had a wife named Bai Cai.
