The year is 2050 and the planet's climate has taken a turn for the worse. On a rainy day, Tamala rescues Kuronosuke, a honeybee, from drowning in a gutter. As the final bee of the feline realm, he takes Tamala on a mystical adventure back to our not-so-distant future. In Tamala's time, civilization is rapidly approaching and humanity is recklessly damaging and destroying the natural world surrounding them. Traversing through a barren landscape where all other creatures have gone extinct, Tamala finds herself starving... until Kuronosuke offers himself as sustenance.
