The shorts follow the struggles of Wake Up, Girl Zoo!, a small zoo located on the outskirts of Sendai, Japan's north-eastern region. The zoo is facing the threat of closure, prompting the chief zookeeper Tange to task the breeder Matsuda with finding a new animal group. Can the seven diverse creatures' attempts to save their home be enough to prevent its demise?
