Valkyria Chronicles is based on Europa, a fictional continent that mirrors Europe in the 1930s. The show illustrates two dominating groups: the Imperial Empire, led by a monarchy and located in the east, and the Federation, made up of democracies, situated in the west. Their dispute arises from ragnite, a mineral with valuable applications in both medicine and military maneuvers, and their ongoing struggle for control of it. The series revolves around Gallia, a neutral country that possesses numerous rich ragnite deposits, which the Imperial Empire attack to procure the mineral. To protect their nation and its resources, Welkin, the offspring of a former war hero, his Darcsen sister Isara, and a young woman named Alicia from Bruhl town form an amateur military group known as Squad 7. Squad 7’s objective is to defend their homeland and regain control of their lives. Welkin is the group’s leader, operating the Edelweiss tank, while Alicia scouts and Isara takes care of operations. There are other lively characters in the crew, who contribute positively to the team’s synergy.
