Living in what would be the ultimate high school dream for most boys, Shinichiro is instead plagued by frustration. Hiromi, a well-liked girl in school, has been living in his house for a year due to her father’s passing. Despite her popularity, athletic talent, and constant smiles, Shinichiro senses a hidden pain within her. Moved by his artistic tendencies, he captures her essence in his watercolors and wishes to ease her tears. However, even in the sanctity of his own home, he lacks the courage to approach her. Hiromi is similarly withdrawn in their household, in stark contrast to her school persona. Shinichiro is further deterred by his friend Nobuse’s teasing and the curse of bad luck placed on him by the peculiar Noe. Additionally, he is being forced to perform Muhiga dancing. He lends Noe aid in hopes that it may alleviate his issues, yet he appears to be struggling to help himself.
