Transformers, highly advanced robotic organisms, inhabit the mechanical planet Cybertron, divided mainly into convoys, the Cybertron army, and their long-standing arch-rival, Destron. The factions clash over acquiring a new power source to gain an edge. Meanwhile, a fresh breed of Transformers, dubbed the Microns, emerge, but they eventually abandon the battlegrounds to venture towards the opposite end of the universe, devastated by the ongoing warfare. Fast forward four million years later on Earth, where three youngsters inadvertently activate a mysterious panel in a cave. And lo and behold, the dormant Micron awakens...
