On Christmas Eve, three destitute friends stumble upon a wondrous occurrence: while scavenging a landfill for a Yuletide offering, they happen upon an infant. Despite having next to nothing, they welcome the baby into their fold and dub her Kiyoko, symbolizing Pure One. In an attempt to locate Kiyoko's mother, the trio sets out on a search, armed only with scraps of her scant possessions. However, the night is dark and the city is vast, and they soon find themselves caught up in a sequence of happenings, including abductions, decease, and an enigmatic crimson envelope. As they nurture the infant and endeavor to reunite her with her rightful kin, Hana, a gracious transwoman, Miyuki, a runaway juvenile, and Gin, a combative individual, form an unlikely alliance. By looking ahead to the future, they are also able to confront their histories, getting one step closer to discovering their rightful place in the world.
