Sawamura Matsugorou, a legendary shamisen player, was grandfather to the now struggling musician, Sawamura Setsu. When Matsugorou passed away, Setsu found himself devoid of musical talent. Aiming to reignite his passion for the instrument, Setsu travels to Tokyo where he meets Tachiki Yuna. Yuna assists him in finding a warm-up act job at a club. Despite lacking the musical genius of his grandfather, Setsu manages to express his personal musings and emotions through his shamisen performances. All the while, he yearns to uncover his own distinctive sound and feelings.
