The great General Abraha and his formidable army march towards the holy city of Mecca, starting from the south of the Arabian Peninsula. They demand the surrender of Mecca, the enslavement of its people, and the destruction of the sacred Kaaba. Despite the advice to retreat and preserve their lives, a handful of brave Meccan men decide to stay and fight. One of them is Aws Ibn Jubair, a humble potter who has forsaken his life of sin to dedicate himself to honor and faith. As the enemy soldiers draw near under the cover of night, the outnumbered Meccans strive to rally their spirits. Suddenly, the appearance of Zurara, an atheist mercenary and Aws' former partner-in-crime, adds a new twist to the situation. Although Zurara joins the battle only for sustenance and compensation, he is captivated by Aws' tale of finding salvation and comes to believe that Mecca must be defended. Realizing that a brutal conflict is unavoidable, the two ex-companions reunite to protect the land and faith that has granted them both redemption.
