Yuno Gasai is your typical first-year high school student, leading a peaceful life with her parents and a small group of friends. Despite this, she feels an overwhelming sense of something missing, a soul so significant to her existence that it feels like she's lived a different life while trying to find it. After a beach trip, Yuno is met with strange messages from a singular voice that only speaks to her. The voice reveals the identity of Yuno's long-awaited love and instructs her on how to find him. Yuno is then transported to a strange world, consumed by the sole purpose of finding her love, whose name she can't seem to remember. Although faced with obstacles that threaten her goal, Yuno remains strong-willed and determined to reunite with her beloved.
