A series of thefts of Buddha statues is plaguing Kyoto, with even prestigious locations falling victim. During one such attack, the family temple of Beniko, a privileged high schooler, is robbed and her parents are brutally murdered. Enju, an acquaintance of Beniko's parents, reveals that the SEADDATTHA robbery group is behind the heinous act. This news fuels Beniko's desire for vengeance. With no place to call home, Enju extends an invitation for Beniko to stay with him, which she accepts. While exploring her new surroundings, Beniko stumbles upon a hidden room and encounters a shocking sight: a monstrous being that resembles her deceased parents and the stolen Buddha statue.
