A young boy named Amon possesses intriguing abilities. His father, the head scientist for the Empire of the Golden Snake, has previously designed weapons for the country. However, he refuses to allow his son's powers to be used for harm, and therefore burns his research before attempting to flee the nation with his loved ones. Tragically, Amon's parents do not make it out alive, leaving him as the sole survivor of their escape. With military forces in pursuit, Amon finds himself on an island where he discovers the ancient culture of individuals who could converse with animals and soar on the winds, much like himself. Later, he befriends a girl named Maria in a fishermen's village; unfortunately, the village is subsequently attacked by the Golden Snake army. Together, Amon and Maria flee with a group of insurgents as they endeavor to thwart the Empire's plan of conquering everything and destroying all. This story was inspired by C.W. Nicol's novel.
