Tenchi Masaki's life undergoes a drastic change when the spacecraft of the notorious space pirate Ryouko Hakubi is shot down and lands close to his family's temple. Little did he realize that his act of saving Ryouko would trigger a chain of events that would bring alien women from diverse backgrounds to take refuge in his abode. These include the delicate Jurai princess Aeka and her playful sibling Sasami; the scatterbrained yet well-intentioned first-class detective Mihoshi Kuramitsu, aided by her capable partner Kiyone Makibi; and the eccentric, daft scientist Washuu Hakubi. Despite their best efforts to adapt to their new surroundings, their alien and sophisticated lifestyle clashes with the simplistic customs of Earth, resulting in chaos and trouble for poor Tenchi. However, despite these struggles, Tenchi develops a deep connection with each woman, gaining a better understanding of his role in the universe through their bonds.
