Ichinomiya Kantarou was born with the unique ability to see demons, but it caused him to be alienated and victimized. Despite the harsh treatment he faced from those without this gift, he developed strong emotional connections with the very creatures he could see. One day, he became captivated by the legend of the Tengu, a powerful demon renowned for consuming ogres. So, he set out to locate it and affectionately named the Tengu Haruka. Although his search for Haruka was fruitless, Kantarou got by as a demon-slayer and chronicler of folklore. Eventually, he received a tip that the Tengu may be sealed at a nearby shrine.
