Kouhei Inuzuka is striving to care for his young daughter Tsumugi ever since his wife passed away, but his meager cooking skills and demanding teaching job force him to rely on prepackaged meals from convenience stores to feed her. He becomes disheartened by his inability to provide his daughter with healthy and flavorful food, until his student Kotori Iida invites him to dine at her family's restaurant. However, they quickly discover that the restaurant is often closed as Kotori's mother is away and their heartwarming friendship blossoms after Kouhei agrees to cook and share homemade meals with Kotori when they visit the restaurant with Tsumugi.
