Mayuri Shiina unveils a new cognitive computing system at the Future Gadget Lab, using a giant pink Oopa toy as its terminal. Despite initial skepticism from Rintarou Okabe and Itaru "Daru" Hashida, who are less than enthusiastic about using it to make fried chicken, Mayuri is convinced the device will be a helpful addition to their group. Despite a lack of proper ingredients, the cognitive computer assists Mayuri and Kurisu Makise in perfecting the dish, much to the delight of the rest of the group. As the series progresses, the value of the cognitive computer becomes increasingly apparent, aiding not just in cooking, but also in reconciling differences between the lab members and soliciting feedback for lab improvements. Though Okabe may not yet recognize its true worth, the lab has gained a valuable asset.
