Bugs launch an attack on Fort Casey, a remote outpost of the Federation, prompting the team aboard the quick-strike vessel Alesia to aid in the evacuation of survivors and military intelligence from the stationed Starship John A. Warden. However, during the rendezvous, Carl Jenkins, who is now leading the Ministry of Paranormal Warfare, covertly takes the starship and disappears into the nebula. The experienced soldiers are tasked with a search and rescue operation, but the mission may uncover a dark truth that surpasses their worst fears.
