As a ghost, Kitarou dedicates his post-life existence to aiding humans in distress by foiling the nefarious schemes of malevolent spirits who take pleasure in tormenting humanity. When his friend Megumi's father, a botanist, goes missing after a research expedition to Baruru Island, Kitarou must step in to rescue him from the clutches of evil spirits.
