Set a year before the original Soul Eater, Soul Eater NOT! serves as both a spin-off and side story. The Death Weapon Meister Academy is where humans born with the power to transform into weapons and wielders of these weapons (Meisters) go to hone their natural abilities. Not all students excel, however, and those in the Normally Overcome Target class focus on controlling their powers to prevent harm. Contrastingly, members of the Especially Advantaged Talent class, where the main series takes place, are trained to become warriors of justice and protect innocent lives from threats, big or small. Amidst this backdrop, newcomer Tsugumi Harudori, who can turn into a halberd, grapples with choosing between her two new Meister friends, Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn. The trio must navigate their way through school life as they come to grips with their powers and responsibilities. Their experiences will be nothing short of extraordinary.
